Monsoon Hood final fitting

The trailer hood is now fitted, and the logos applied, and I'm really pleased with the great workmanship from Tony Pollard and his team at Monsoon Car Hoods on the A22 in East Sussex.

If you need a hood for a sports car or a 4x4, or a full or partial re-trim, please try them for a first-class products and great service. You'll find them online HERE

The bike on display by City Hall and Tower Bridge

I had an invite recently from Robert Hokin, the CEO of EcoConnect. They put on a series of talks and workshops, mainly in London but increasingly spreading further afield... I've attended a few of them on the Transport theme.

When Robert saw us at the Eco Technology show in Brighton he was bowled over by the bike and immediately asked if I could bring it along to the forthcoming annual Low Carbon Transport Seminar. This was to be held in 3 More London Riverside in the shadow of City Hall and Tower Bridge - it's a beautiful location; you can see it here

It was a fantastic event, as they always are, and well attended by some serious players from the world of Cleantech and the Low Carbon Automotive sector.

There were 3 bikes on display as Kingston University had their TT-Zero bike and the Agility futuristic bike were both in attendance, along with the stunning Lightning sports car and a Nissan Leaf representing the 4-wheel brigade (there should have been a couple more cars but they didn't attend)

1066 BikeNite is a winner

An invite from Howard Martin, the chap behind the 1066 BikeNite at Hastings saw us at the 1066 Café (http://www.1066cafe.com/) early in the evening on Thursday 4th July.

We were there awaiting the arrival of a large mob of bikers. They gather at the Café on the A21 from about 5:30pm and then ride a cavalcade down to the seafront at Hastings at about 7pm. Howard had arranged this one as an 'electric' night - which is why I had the drag-bike on display, and bikes from Zero Motorcycles and Vectrix were on hand too, and they led the ride to the seafront.

It was a great evening. As ever there was a lot of interest in our bike and a huge turnout of bikes.

With support from the local Police and Fire Service riders, plus a large turnout from both SERV Kent and SERV Sussex (blood delivery riders) it was an incredibly well organised evening.

A couple of trade stands were at the café along with more down at the seafront. Give it a go in August...

STEM inspiration at Big Bang South-East

We had a great day at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley on Tuesday 2nd July, displaying the bike at the school science fair.

3,000 pupils attended from across the South East, and we had a lot of interest from children and teachers alike, as well as the other exhibitors.

What impressed me most was the exhibit next to us, from Ardingly College, with the ex-Cambridge Uni, ex-MIT, solar car. Apparently this is the only road-registered solar car in the UK, and the school are using this as the basis for designing their own vehicle to take to Australia in 2015.

Quite amazing to see their ambition... see more at www.ArdinglySolar.com
